The passions around Hrazdan iron mine development are getting more and more intense. The Armenian National Congress is alarming that uranium is available in Hrazdan iron mine and is getting ready to struggle for the suspension of iron development. Several days ago leaflets with the logo of the Armenian National Congress could be found on the dwelling buildings in Hrazdan. These leaflets say, “Neglecting the complaints from our residents and environmental organizations, the preparation works for iron mine development in Hrazdan are still going on. Under the information we have, still in 1962 the studies made there revealed about the availability of uranium, and its development was timely stopped. Nevertheless, not taking into consideration the danger threatening to people’s health, the Armenian Government is going to develop these mines in 2010. We are not enemies to our children and must FIGHT AND INTERVENE at all costs to stop the mine development process.”
