On 30 June the Nature Protection Ministry issued a positive opinion to the working project of the new tailing dump of Tukhmanuk gold dressing plant submitted by “Mego Gold” LLC. “Environmental Expertise” SNCO confirmed this information in their phone conversation with EcoLur. In reply to EcoLur’s question, which project was issued a positive opinion, when no information was available on the official website of Nature Protection Ministry, “Environmental Expertise” SNCO employee said that they approved the old project submitted still in 2013.
Reminder: the working project of tailing dump of Tukhmanuk gold dressing plant submitted by “Mego Gold” LLC still in 2013 was turned down by Nature Protection Ministry in May 2013. The official website of Nature Protection Ministry even displays information about this: http://www.mnp.am/?aid=1735.
By issuing a positive opinion to the expired and turned down project, the Nature Protection Ministry violated RA Law “On Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise”.
