After Rains Kapan Streets Are Flooded with Yellow Waters from Derelict Mines

After the rains the streets in Davit Bek area, Kapan Town, are flooded with the yellow waters of derelict underground mines. The front metallic gate is missing, while the children are playing in front of the entrance sometimes going in. On 13 June Kapan Aarhus Center Coordinator Ashot Avagyan beat this alarm signal during the public hearings of 'Kapan Town Environment and Population Health Preservation Health Program for 2015' on 13 June.

Kapan Mayor Ashot Hayrapetyan responded to this problem by ordering to install a metallic gate and to regulate the water flow getting out of the mine to exclude any flow out to the street.
