According to the data from National Statistics Service, Armenia exported goods in the amount of 1 billion USD and imported in the amount of 4,4 billion UDS in 2008.

Ferromolybdenum takes the first place in the export – 208,8 million USD. Besides, products and scrap in the amount of 19,7 million USD, as well as 783 tons of molybdenum concentrates in the amount of 8,2 million USD were also exported. So, 23% of all the export in Armenia makes up molybdenum production.

Diamonds take the second place (144 million UDS). This index impugns those opinions that this field is in deep crisis. Though, diamond export exceeded more than 300 million USD at the best of times.

Copper takes the third place. Copper in the form of concentrate was exported in the amount of 99,9 million USD, or 1 ton of concentrates on average for 1745 USD.

Such state of affairs is characteristic of weekly developed economy and stipulates that Armenian economy heavily needs qualitative growth. Unfortunately, groups of other goods have no decisive role in the export structure.
