The NGOs concerned with the implementation of uranium program have received the reply of the open letter addressed to the Armenian President, which was signed by Energy and Natural Resources Ministry Staff Head K. Ghahramanyan.
The letter particularly says, “According to the results of geological prospecting and laboratory analyses conducted in 2010-2011, the presence of a uranium mine near one of the Syunik Region settlements was not confirmed, and uranium ore reserves were not identified.”
In the course of 2012 ARJO CJSC will conduct geological prospecting, which won’t affect negatively on environment and people’s health.”
