In this publication, we will cover the declaration submitted by Akhtala Ore Dressing Combine CJSC operating Shamlugh copper mine in Lori Region.
100% ownership of a former politician
Akhtala Ore Dressing Plant CJSC was registered on October 26, 2002. The declaration reveals two real owners, one of whom owns the entire package of shares in the company.
The first real owner is Vahe Hakobyan. According to the declaration, he is a member of the Republican Party of Armenia, businessman, former MP. He is former former Syunik Regional Governor, Director of Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine Maxim Hakobyan's son. Vahe Hakobyan owns 100 shares of the company with 100% participation.
Vahe Hakobyan acquired the entire package of shares of the company on July 10, 2019, when the EITI process was already introduced in Armenia. Vahe Hakobyan is also a member of the company's board, authorized to appoint or dismiss those involved in the company's governing bodies. The second real owner is General Director of the company Samvel Khachatryan.
Only one intermediary company, MASCO MINE CJSC in Armenia, which operates for the first owner Vahe Hakobyan, has been identified in the declaration. The company has a direct share in the authorized capital of "Akhtala Ore Dressing Plant" CJSC.
