17,447,193,000 AMD will be directed to the protection of the environment with Yerevan budget for 2021. The draft budget of the capital was approved on December 23 at the sitting of Yerevan Aldermen’s Council. Out of this amount, it is planned to allocate 10 billion 457 million 434 thousand 300 AMD for garbage collection, 6 billion 553 million 75 thousand 700 AMD for environmental protection, 398 million AMD for wastewater disposal, and 38 million 683 thousand AMD for the fight against environmental pollution (fight against air pollution) and cleaning riverbeds.
Within the framework of the environmental protection program, it is envisaged to direct 234 million 500 thousand AMD to the organization of neutralization of stray animals. It is also planned to allocate 2 billion 245 million 914 thousand AMD for the implementation of cooperation on general challenges related to hazardous waste management in the capitals of Yerevan, Warsaw and Tirana.
9 million AMD is planned to be allocated for the improvement of Hrazdan gorge and Lake Yerevan.
It should be noted that the budget for revenues of Yerevan City for 2021 makes up 92 billion 420 million 288 thousand 700 AMD.
