One of the most pressing and urgent issues facing RA Environment Ministry is the re-formulation of the institute of Environmental Impact Assessment, its reformulation in the institutional terms and the fundamental change in the expert assessment process. According to the ministry, this problem should be solved in 2021.
A working group has been formed in RA Environment Ministry, which is actively working on the elaboration of new RA Law on Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise. With the adoption of the new law, first of all, the establishment of a new quality of EIA and Strategic Environmental Assessment is expected, as well as change in the public perceptions of the process. The entire EIA process and procedures shall be amended.
