New RA draft law "On Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)" is being elaborated, as RA Environment Ministry informs.
"Work has been going on for a long time, involving international experts on the draft amendment to RA Law on Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise, considering the international experience in this field, ensuring the transparency of the environmental impact assessment process, bringing the legislation in line with international legal standards. The new law clarifies the status of the expert conclusion issued as a result of the expert assessment, as well as the procedure for licensing the developer of EIA project, which was very vague," the ministry said in its press release.
This year, the government has allocated an additional 10,541.7 thousand AMD from the state budget reserve fund for SNCO salaries and maintenance expenses. The total budget of SNCO amounted to 56003.5 thousand AMD per year, staff was replenished, salaries were increased by 30-40%, SNCO was replenished with a car, by which experts visit the areas under examination, new equipment and property were purchased.
