From January 1, 2023, the settlements affected by the mining industry will receive a 2% share of the royalties paid by soil manager.
On March 4, RA National Assembly adopted the draft laws "On Making Amendments to the Law on the Budget System of the Republic of Armenia" and "On Making Amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government" developed by RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
According to the legislative amendment, the royalty deduction should be divided in the 50/50 ratio between the affected settlements of the affected community impacted by the mine of the company and the affected settlements of the mines operated by other mining companies paying royalties in Armenia.
The list of affected settlements will be defined by the authorized body. According to preliminary estimates, the initial figure makes up 23.
The head of the community will submit the draft of the community contribution expenditure plan to the authorized body for approval. The development of the plans will be based on the development documents of the region or community or other program or strategic issues, giving priority to the development programs of the affected settlement. The directions of the measures envisaged by the program, their priorities will be defined by the Armenian Government.
