Pilot Project on Land Reforms in Baghramyan, Norakert, Mayisyan and Haytagh Settlements in Armavir Region To Be Implemented

It is planned to implement a pilot program of land reforms in Baghramyan, Norakert, Mayisyan and Haytagh settlements in Armavir Region, Armenia. On October 13, RA government approved the pilot program of land reforms, if implemented, it is expected to increase the productivity of the land and obtain additional products through the unification of lands.

According to the data received from the settlements, the unused agricultural lands amount to a total of 1393.85 ha. The highest rate of unused land was recorded in Baghramyan settlement, which makes up 73% of agricultural land. The situation is almost similar in Norakert settlement. The index of unused land in Mayisyan and Haytagh settlements makes up around 25%.

According to the rationale of the project developed by RA Ministry of Economy, around 60% of the unused lands will be included in the circulation after the implementation of the pilot project and will be cultivated as a perennial plantation, in particular, in the case of intensive orchard cultivation, it will provide about 32 thousand tons of gross product.
