At the session of November 24, 2022, the Government of the Republic of Armenia adopted a decision on establishing the procedures for the export and import of mercury, which is intended to regulate the processes of mercury export from the territory of the Republic of Armenia and the processes of mercury import into the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In particular, the decision prohibits the export and transportation of mercury to the territory of the member state of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) by natural persons (except for individual entrepreneurs engaged in mercury import and export and the use of mercury).
