Defense Army: Fighting Continues with Varying Intensity along Contact Line

The units of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, accompanied by fire from various types of weapons, continue the positional advancement operations targeting civil infrastructures as well, as Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Artsakh informs.

"The units of the Defense Army are persistently resisting with actions of a defensive nature, causing losses to the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces," the press release says.

Human Rights Defender of Artsakh Republic Gegham Stepanyan posted on his Facebook page that as of 03:00, according to the information received by the Office of the Human Rights Defender, there are 35 injured out of which 13 children, 15 women and 7 men among the civilian population. "Civilian victims and wounded were recorded in all regions of Artsakh. Among the peaceful population, the number of victims has reached 7: 3 women, 2 children and 2 men," the post states.

In another post, Ombudsman of the Republic of Artsakh reported that more than 7,000 people were evacuated from 16 civil communities in Askeran, Martakert, Martuni and Shushi regions in Artsakh.

Reminder: on September 19, around 13:00, the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire along the line of contact with Nagorno-Karabakh by launching rocket artillery strikes.
