Lori Regional Head Aram Ghazaryan was presented with the projects implemented by the "Environmental Project Implementation Office" in the region.
The three-year-long “Implementation of Armenia's Land Degradation Neutrality Commitments through Sustainable Land Management and Restoration of Degraded Landscapes” project launched in 2022 was presented, within the framework of which it was planned to create clean barley and corn fields on 68,769 ha of degraded arable land in 8 settlements of Lori Region. Actual autumn sowing was done only in 47.7 ha of arable land.
Within the framework of the project, it is also planned to improve 70 ha of degraded pastures and 100 ha of degraded grasslands in the mentioned communities, and to establish orchards on 1.9 ha.
3650 ha of afforestation and reforestation works will be implemented with the introduction of modern methods of forest landscape restoration in Lori Region.
