

A consultation was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the prospects for the development of green hydrogen production in the Republic of Armenia were discussed. This is reported on the official website of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
It was recalled that within the framework of the fifth session of the Investment Committee, it was decided to create a working group dealing with hydrogen issues, which was to carry out work on the development of the green hydrogen sector, revealing its advantages, production methods and technologies. It was emphasized that the purpose of this consultation is to discuss the proposals developed as a result of the studies of the working group and consulting companies on the development of green hydrogen production in Armenia.
Next, the legal framework for the development of green hydrogen, areas of application were presented, and a long-term strategic solution was discussed, which will be aimed at decarbonizing the energy system, preventing emissions, the requirements of the green taxonomy, etc. Details were presented on the program proposals for green hydrogen production, in particular, the results of feasibility studies on the production and integration of green hydrogen by the consulting companies "BDO ADVISORY" and "CIVITTA". Short-term, medium-term and long-term scenarios for the development of green hydrogen production were also discussed.
A discussion was held around the presented studies and proposals, and observations were presented on the methods of green hydrogen production in energy conversion.
The Prime Minister attached importance to the studies provided by the working group and consulting companies, and emphasized the need to implement a pilot project for green hydrogen production in cooperation with the scientific community and with the introduction of international experience. The Prime Minister instructed to submit a report in the near future on the work done towards the implementation of the pilot project.
