Today, on 30 January, under the government resolution the Economy Ministry will receive 8.4 million AMD for the independent economic expertise of the “Complex Program for Recovery of Trout Reserves and Fish Breeding in Lake Sevan”, as the official website of the Armenian Government.
The project has also been submitted for the environmental expertise. But the government hasn’t allotted any funds, though Sevan is an environmentally protected object. Damages for Sevan should be assessed from the viewpoint of environmental expertise comparing them with expected benefits.
Reminder: general public and environmentalists consider this project destructive for Sevan and have applied to the Armenian Government and parliamentary factions of the National Assembly for them to reject this project.
