Around 35 organizations deal with mining activities in Lori Region, which has 3798 square km, out of which 5 mines are metallic ones. Regional Municipality Agriculture and Environmental Department Head has presented data about the mining companies to Lori Regional Head.
Five metallic mines are as follows: Shamlugh copper mine developed “Akhtala Ore Dressing Combine” CJSC, Teghout copper and molybdenum mine developed by “Teghout” CSJC, Alaverdi copper mine developed by “Armenian Copper Program” CJSC, Mghart gold and polymetallic mine developed by “Multi Group Concern” LLC and Armanis gold and polymetallic mine developed by “Sagamar” CJSC.
It should be mentioned that “Assat” LLC and “BAKTEK ECO” LLC also have soil management rights to metallic mines in Lori region, Qaraberd gold mine and Arjut gold mine, respectively.
