In response to EcoLur’s articles published cencerning "Qaghtsrashen Gravity Irrigation Project” the PIU team of the State Committee on Water Industry has dispatched the following letter:
“The public hearings on Qaghtsrashen Gravity Irrigation Project held in Garni community are regularly followed by the responses and concerns published in the mass media and expressed by the environmental NGOs, which we additionally comment on.
First of all, we would like to assure that the customer and the implementer of the project as represented by the PIU of State Committee on Water Industry and “Hayhydroenerganakhagits” CJSC are not less concerned with the social and environmental problems of the country and particularly this project. Therefore, the project includes not only economic profitability, but also the approaches of our specialists, who answer all the main questions. These approaches have been presented many times during specialized discussions, as well as during the public discussions held in the stakeholder communities.”
