In regard with the article "Armenian Ecologists Together with Azerbaijani Ecologists Submitted Letter to EBRD on Some Project" published in "Hraparak" daily on September 23, we would like to inform you that this publication has a manipulative nature, targeting existing Armenian environmental organizations in a tense, sensitive and unpredictable situation.
It should be noted that the environmental organizations in Armenia joined the recommendations initiated by CEE Bankwatch International Network regarding the strategy of the mining sector for 2024-2028 reviewed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The EBRD makes serious investments in the mining industry around the world, especially in the oil and gas sector.
The author of the published article, Hayk Gevorgyan, extracting the essence of the letter, compared it with the situation in Artsakh and gave an emphatic, unsubstantiated negative assessment of the activities of the Armenian environmental organizations, which have been protecting Armenia's interests from irresponsible investments for years.
We appeal to all media in such a sensitive situation to refrain from publishing cheap, "sensational", "urgent" materials and not to harm the stability of our country.
