Whether Energy and Natural Resources Ministry is not aware of the factual number of tailing dumps in Armenia? This question arises when you read the information on the tailing dumps in Armenia published on the official website of Energy and Natural Resources Ministry of Armenia.

“The country has 15 tailing dumps to accumulate the wastes generating from the development of mines in the territory of the country, the capacities of which exceed a couple of million cubic meters and they occupy a total area of 700 ha. Currently the industrial wastes generated as a result of mining and processing of natural resources are not used, though they contain a huge amount of metals,” the website says.
