Specialists are explaining the breach of all limits in the gas supply limit by Gazprom Armenia. “The agreement signed with Russia is incomplete: it doesn’t prescribe the quality of the gas to be supplied, It should have fixed gas temperature and exact number of calories. 7600 kilocalories is complete freedom: Russia can supply any garbage to Armenia,” said energy specialist Emil Sahakyan at the press conference held at EcoLur Press Club on 21 February.

It should be mentioned that under the agreement concluded with Gazprom Armenia, Armenia should receive gas with at least 7600 kilocalorie, while according to Gazprom Armenia the gas supplied to Armenia has 7900 caloricity.

“Gas heaters have technical descriptors. For example, the heater is regulated for 9800 caloricity to produce normal temperature. If this figure decreases, problems will arise: it means much heat won’t be produced, but much gas will be spent…,” said Aram Grigoryan, Director of Union for Public Defenders.

Silva Adamyan expressed her dissatisfaction with gas service, “The consumer signs an agreement with the supplier, under which it pays for service, but we don’t know what we pay for. It turns out that under the agreement, the servicing party undertakes an obligation to visit our houses twice a year and to provide service. In all other cases the service is on paid bases. A question arises: Why didn’t the consumer raise the question when s/he was signing the agreement?”
