The increase in electricity price will lead to inflation, as economist Aram Grigoryan, Executive Director of “Union of Public Advocates” said at the press conference held at EcoLur Press Club on 25 June. “Public services is the field, where any change in the tariff will affect on the whole economy of the country. Decrease of consumers’ income to a certain extent will lead to inflations under economic mechanisms. Let’s say, if a villagers pays more for electricity, he will raise the price of his agricultural product. As the economy in Armenia is regulated not with economic mechanisms, but monopoly and political directions, any change will lead to inflation,” Aram Grigoryan said.
Under him, the increase in electricity price will affect on all the branches of economy and will lead to the deterioration of poverty.
