“The temperature rate increase in Armenia is faster by 20-25% than worldwide. The global temperature worldwide has increased by 0.8 degree, while the rate for Armenia is over 1 degree. Having vulnerable mountainous ecosystems Armenia is more sensitive to such changes. Such increase in temperature will lead to such deviations in climate, which can be demonstration with extreme conditions,” Aram Gabrielyan said.

Referring to the problem of the vulnerability of water resources, Aram Gabrielyan said, “The temperature increase leads to the decrease in precipitation, on one hand, and rise in evaporation, on the other hand. That is, the formed natural river flow suffers in both cases. We currently evaluate the vulnerability of the resources over 30%, which means if we currently have 3 billion cum water for use, we will lose around 1 billion cum.”

Under him, continuous increase in temperature and reduced precipitation are recorded in the last 14 years, and, as a result, we have weather deviations, while the impact of heatwaves on human health is obvious judging by death rate.
