The littoral areas of Lake Sevan were not cleaned during 2018-2019. "There are overlaps between the work done previously and the work planned to be carried out in 2018-2019. We have found it expedient to stop the work and to make new estimates. We will have information at 1901.5 mark entirely mapped with satellite images taken with drones about the area subject to cleaning. The number nearly equals to 600 ha. Then we will apply to the government to carry out cleaning works," Minister of Environment Erik Grigoryan said.
It had been estimated that in case the level of Lake Sevan is increased to the mark of 1903.5 meters, around 4000 ha of forests will be flooded. As of 12 June, the level of Lake Sevan is 1900.80 meters.
