From the second half of 2023, a new, modern and professional water patrol service will operate in Lake Sevan. According to RA police report, the newly created division will operate under Gegharkunik regional division of the patrol service. The planned works are coordinated by RA Police and Justice Ministry.
According to the official announcement, the trainings will be conducted with the support of international partners, there will be theoretical and practical courses. The training involves the implementation of both classic water patrolling, as well as the provision of rescue first aid, diving skills, etc.
In order to properly implement the service, it is planned to create infrastructures, water patrol service bases, protected special area, etc.
