The scientific studies of the calculation of fish stocks in Lake Sevan have started. The studies are carried out by specialists of Institute of Hydrobiology, Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
The employees of Environment Ministry, "Sevan" National Park assist in the implementation of scientific works, as Environment Ministry informs.
It should be noted that in 2019 the amount of whitefish in the lake was 2668 tons, 2345 tons in 2020, 5348 tons in 2021, 4700 tons in 2022.
