The Aghstev river damaged Tavush's settlements, infrastructure, and people several times this year. The recently flooded river damaged the bridge leading to Khashtarak village. Before that, Aghstev, which came out of its banks because of the flood in May, destroyed the Dilijan-Ijevan highway in the part of Haghartsin village, houses of residents, flooded plots of land, and washed away livestock.
25 families in Haghartsin settlement filed for compensation in the hope of receiving assistance from the state. Sidewalks collapsed in several parts of Dilijan Town, making them impassable for pedestrians. Affected Dilijan Town and Haghartsin village have been declared a disaster zone by the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The representatives of the local self-government bodies and local non-governmental organizations tell Ecolur about the damage caused to Dilijan Town and Haghartsin village.
