EcoLur-“We Won’t Keep Silence” Youth Initiative
EcoLur NGO and “We Won’t Keep Silence” Youth Initiative continue the series of joint signals under a common title of “Nature or Money.”
It became known from reliable sources despite Nature Protection Minister’s multiple statements that no heavy machinery will appear near Trchkan waterfall, it did appear. Though the civil works haven’t started yet, the machinery pointed to their launch.
In fact, Nature protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan’s assignment about the cessation of any work near Trchkan waterfall is not exercised.
EcoLur and “We Won’t Keep Silence” demand from Nature Protection Ministry to demonstrate adherence and consistency in regard with his own actions and to call back the positive opinion and construction permit for the construction of a small hydropower plant on Trchkan signed by Nature Protection Minister. These permits are illegal and contradict with other decisions on the cessation of work signed by the Minister. Otherwise, we will have to perceive all the statements about Trchkan as diversion, while the company slowly but steadily continues destroying the specially protected territory – Trchkan waterfall.
