“At “one magnificent” moment “environmental chain reaction” may take place, which will change the whole bionvironment. The science can’t anticipate the moment of its generation, while environmentalists say it can happen any time, everything has already got mature,” Hrachya Avagyan is beating an alarm signal in his article “Environmental Issues” published in the “Science” newspaper. According to the scientist, such situation can happen in Syunik Region, Armenia, where numerous copper and molybdenum and gold-polymetallic mins are developed, such as Qajaran, Hanqasar and Agarak copper and molybdenum and Shahumyan gold-polymetallic mines, where natural resources are extracted inadequately and annually thousand tons of heavy metals and toxic elements are dumped into natural environment.
