With its first reading the National Assembly adopted the bill on the additional water outlet of 100 million cum from Lake Sevan. 75 MPs of 'Republican Party of Armenia', 'Tsarukyan' and 'Armenian Revolutionary' Factions voted for the bill, while three MPs from 'Yelq' Faction voted against the bill.
Before the voting in his final speech, Arsen Harutyunyan – Chairman of the State Committee on Water Industry, particularly said, 'Yesterday we had discussions at the committee both by the committee members and the environmentalists, who factually didn't have any right to speak, but they were granted this right so as they could express their opinions, raise questions and present problems. We have marked these problems with us and the decision has already been made on several problems, but I asked for time for the main proposals so as to make amendments to the governmental bill before the second reading and to submit the briefed version.'
The next meeting of the National Assembly has been appointed at 10:00 on 6 July.
