

During archeological excavations in Teghut copper-molybdenum mine in July-August 2021, archaeologists discovered a mausoleum dating back to the 1st millennium BC and buildings belonging to the medieval settlement, as Teghut CJSC operating the mine informs.
According to the press release disseminated by the company, the excavations were carried out in accordance with the contract signed between Institute of Archeology of NAS RA and Teghut CJSC in Bover-2 and Gharakotuk archeological sites.
Four iron age tombs were excavated at Gharakotuk ancient site, and works were carried out at the same site to clean the medieval vineyard (XII-XIII centuries) and to further preserve it.
