Waste sorting containers will be placed in many yards of Yerevan administrative districts in the near future. Yerevan Municipality has started a process of waste recycling, which is currently being carried out with the support of individual business entities.
Three months ago, Waste Sorting Department was established within "Greening and Environmental Protection" NGO at Yerevan Municipality.
Head of Waste Sorting Department Hayk Hovhannisyan said in his conversation with EcoLur: "We have created three temporary stations. We are carrying out the whole process with business entities. "We are reaching an agreement, our cars are moving around, collecting waste," he said.
At present, waste collection in the capital is carried out by 6 cars. Waste collection is carried out from the residents.
