Bardukh Gabrielyan, Director of Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of NAS RA, was elected Lake Sevan Expert Committee of NAS RA. He replaced Yuri Javadyan in this office, General Director of "Armwater Project Institute" CJSC.
Khachatur Meliksetyan, Director of Institute of Geological Sciences of NAS RA, was elected Deputy Chairman of Expert Committee of Lake Sevan. The Committee consists of Georgy Fayvush, Head of Department of Geobiology and Ecological Physiology of Institute of Botany of NAS RA, Deputy Scientific Director of Institute of Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA and Head of Computer and Information Networks Department Vladimir Sahakyan, Alexander Arakelyan, researcher at Institute of Geological Sciences of NAS RA, specialist in GIS, engineer-hydrologist, PhD in technical sciences Alexey Tarverdyan, and hydrologist Ofelia Grigoryan.
It should be noted that the work of the expert commission on Lake Sevan is regulated by RA Law on Lake Sevan. The purpose of the committee is to carry out independent-expert examination of the projects related to Lake Sevan, to develop and submit relevant proposals to the authorized bodies, to provide positive or negative opinions.
