The horizon of the dead volume of Azat reservoir will be lowered by 20 m in order to study the technical condition of the water intake junction of the underground drain and to direct the irrigation. This resolution was adopted at the meeting of RA Government held on September 16, 2022.
The dead volume of Azat reservoir will be temporarily lowered from 1013.9 m to 993 m.
According to Water Committee of RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, which is developing the project, the volume of released water will be directed to the Artashat canal, which will reduce the water demand for irrigation of around 7000 hectares of land areas under the control of the canal.
