The findings of the research carried out by "Armbiotechnology" Science and Production Center of NAS RA have shown that the cyanobacteria, as well as microalgae in Lake Sevan, can be considered a rich source of fatty acids and an alternative source of energy.
"Cyanobacteria-based biofuel, unlike other energy sources, is one of the most environmentally clean and renewable resources," Head of Center's Alternative Energy Sources Laboratory Vigen Goginyan noted.
