1.6 Million Cubic Meters of Water Accumulated During Initial Filling Phase of Vedi Reservoir

During the initial phase of water filling at the Vedi Reservoir, 1.6 million cubic meters of water have already been accumulated, as the Armenian Territorial Development Fund informs..

According to the statement, the process of transferring water through pipelines from the Vedi and Khosrov rivers has been successfully completed.

The reservoir is designed to hold a total of 29.3 million cubic meters of water, enabling gravity irrigation for 3,220 hectares of land. Additionally, the on-farm irrigation network covering 580 hectares is now ready for operation.

The total cost of the project amounts to €90 million, funded by the Government of Armenia and the French Development Agency (AFD). Of that, €60 million was allocated for the reservoir’s construction, while an additional €30 million was used for the intake structures on the Vedi and Khosrov rivers, as well as water transfer and irrigation systems.
