The Nature Protection Ministry recognized “Yerevan Jur” CJSC as a party responsible for the dumps of the wine factory into the Hrazdan River. Reminder: on 15 June EcoLur applied to Nature Protection Ministry in regard with dumping the wastes of the wine factory into the Hrazdan River. The reply letter addressed to EcoLur signed by Ministry Staff Head Edgar Pirumyan said, “The State Environmental Inspection of Nature Protection Ministry carried out examinations based on the alarm signal together with EcoLur’s working group and “Ararat” Yerevan Wine and Brandy Combine representative.” It turned out that the industrial wastes of the combine were not dumped into the river. But because of the breakdown and malfunction of the sewer system valve located in a distance of 500 meters from the combine, a part of the industrial wastes poured out into the Hrazdan River. The responsibility for the breakdown and its elimination is vested on “Yerevan Jur” CJSC. At present the sizes of the damage caused to environment are specified,” the letter says.
