The Minister of Nature Protection of RA visited Sevan and talked about Sevan issues in a stately manner in front of TV cameras. Under our information, Aram Harutyunyan improved his financial state at the expense of particularly these territories. At present he owns a magnificent hotel and restaurant complex on a beautiful land area of Sevan Peninsula registered on his brother’s name. His chief companion is Gagik Karapetyan, Director of Sevan Psychiatric Hospital.

After being appointed as the Minister, Aram Harutyunyan dismisssed the Head of Gegharqounik Territorial Environmental Inspection and his Deputy, instead he appointed people who are now dealing with the sale of land areas. The price for one cubic meter of sand is 2,000 AMD (5,5 USD) and for one cubic meter of black earth (this type of soil is banned to extract) 2,500 AMD (6,7 USD). “Under my estimates, damage to the state made up 307 million AMD (830 thousand USD),” said Henrik Martirosyan, ex employee at the State Environmental Inspection. Martirosyan dispatched a letter to the Prime Minister and the Armenian Prosecutor General describing these illegal actions two months ago. He hasn’t received any answer so far.
