On 22 August a rock concert in support of the Khimki forest was held in Moscow. Famous Russian rock starts headed by Yuri Shevchouk joined this event.
In Armenia we have the same problem; particularly we speak about Teghout forest, which needs protection no less than the Khimki forest. Nevertheless, it’s hard to remember any Armenian celebrity to stand for Teghout.
Our singers and musicians speak much about their love to their homeland; have photo shoots on the background of forests and environmental monuments, mountains and rivers. But when the time comes to protect nature, none of them shows up on the stage.
Maybe they think irregardless of how many trees are cut down, something will be left for them to shoot video clips.
