Gugarq Residents Beating Alarm Signal: Dust and Noise from Stone Crushing Plant Disturbed Their Routine
EcoLur has received an alarm from the residents of Gugarq Community, Lori Region, Armenia that the dust emissions and noise from the stone-crushing gravel plant belonging to "AAB PROJECT" LLC disrupted their normal life. The alarm signal says: "Near the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road in Lori Region and adjacent to Gugarq Community, there is a stone crushing and gravel plant. “All environmental norms have been violated: they work 24/7. The volume exceeds the established norms several times. Residents do not have a good sleep at nights, their peace of mind is disturbed. A large amount of dust is emitted, which accumulates not only in houses, but also in land plots, pastures, which are only 200 meters away from our houses. Dust and noise are not only environmental disasters, but also create serious health problems for people. Isn't it possible to organize all that in the mine, to store the freshly prepared sand near the village without disturbing the people?” EcoLur has addressed this alarm signal to RA Environmental Protection and Inspection Mining Body.
