After Blast at Surmalu Shopping Center, Concentrations of Nitrogen and Sulfur Dioxides in Atmospheric Air Decreasing, but Still Exceed Permissible Limit

After the blast in Yerevan's Surmalu shopping center on August 14, the concentration of nitrogen and sulfur dioxides in the atmospheric air has started to decrease, but it still exceeds the permissible limit concentration (PLC), as e "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" of Environment Ministry informs.

Accordingly, nitrogen and sulfur dioxides exceeded the permissible limit concentration up to 2.5-3 times at a distance of 5 and 10 m from the blast, but this number is decreasing.

It should be noted that the concentration of sulfur dioxide in the atmospheric air in the area near Surmalu shopping center exceeded the limit of 4.6 times on August 14-15, whereas the concentration of nitrogen dioxide exceeded by 2.6 times.
