From October 2023 to April 2024, Armenia was the second warmest country in the world after Bosnia and Herzegovina with air temperature deviation from the standard, as Levon Azizyan, Director of "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" of RA Environment Ministry, informs referring to the data of the World Meteorological Organization and the Copernicus climate change service.
In the top ten hottest countries, Armenia is followed by Moldova, then Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Canada.
If during the period of 1935-2023 the air temperature in Armenia increased by 1.6 degrees, it has risen by 1 degree in the world. Air temperature growth trends in Armenia have significantly intensified since the 2000s. Every 10 years the average air temperature rises by 0.6 degrees․
