Armenia intends to curb CO2 emissions, which is conditioned by energy saving program launched in 2012, as the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry expenditure interim program for 2014-2016 says. The aim of the energy saving program is to reduce the level of energy consumption of social and public significance.
The studies in 2008 showed that through the investments into energy saving Armenia can save up to annual 132 billion AMD (over 360 million USD), which is equivalent to 4.3% of the GDP in 2009.
