"Lidian Armenia" CJSC applied to RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure with a request to extend the period of the right to soil management of Amulsar mine by 3 years, 5 months and 20 days.
In her conversation with NEWS.am, environmentalist Inga Zarafyan said that if the term of soil management right of "Lydian Armenia" CJSC is extended, the company will continue its activities without a new EIA and other permits. "Lydian Armenia" wants to extend its rights without a new application, according to the law that came into force in the summer. This means that "Lydian" can extend the soil management period and continue its activities without a new EIA and other regulations, because according to new law "On Amendments and Addenda to Mining Code Code", if fires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes or other natural disasters, explosions, war, terrorism, civil war, including civil disobedience, then the extension of soil management right will be considered an insurmountable force", Inga Zarafyan explained.
