Civil Society Representatives Hold Protest Against Amulsar Mine Operations at the Entrance to COP17’s Green Zone
On 19 October 2026, environmentalists and civil society representatives held a protest against the Amulsar gold mine project near the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, at the entrance to the Green Zone of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17).
According to the participants, the police obstructed the protest by preventing them from unfurling their banners. Nevertheless, in the presence of journalists, the participants voiced their opposition to the operation of the Amulsar mine and expressed their concerns.
Following the gathering, a march towards Victory Bridge is planned.
