Today, on 14 May, Sir Suma Chakrabarti, the President of the EBRD, delivered his speech to the Opening Session of the Board of Governors at the Bank’s 2014 Annual Meeting in Warsaw. The meeting was held at the building of Warsaw National Stadium. The representatives of 67 countries participate in this meeting, include Armenia. “At each step of the way, the EBRD’s shareholders have supported the Bank’s evolution. Today, we work on three continents, Europe, Asia and Africa. We had a near record number of operations, 392 – just one short of the previous year’s all time high. Annual Bank investment was €8.5 billion.” It should be mentioned that the Armenian delegation is headed by the President of the Central Bank of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan. First Deputy to Head of President Administration Vardan Aramyan also takes part in the meeting. Reminder: in Armenia the EBRD finances projects in mining and energy. The most scandalous project funded by the EBRD in Armenia is Amulsar gold mining project.
