"Save Teghout" Civic Initiative publicly called for a boycott of the public discussions of the Social and Environmental Impact Assessment of the Amulsar project organized by Lydian International. In Yerevan the discussion will take place on July 23.
The announcement of "Save Teghout" Initiative particularly says, "An illegal project is presented to the public full of dangerous consequences such as affecting Jermuk resort zone brand as a health resort, threatening the specially protected areas of Lake Sevan, deterioration of the conditions of both Kechut and Spandaryan reservoirs and the basins of the rivers Arpa and Vorotan, destruction of Gndevaz village because of cyan production, dust and toxic industrial wastes... We don't want to legitimate the Amulsar project and refuse to participate in the discussion of the document because we are mainly against the project. We call not to contribute to the realization of that disastrous programme, say "No" to the programme by consultation boycott", it is stated in the announcement.
