Levon Galstyan, a member of "Armenian Environmental Front", posted a video of many polluted storks in Dashtavan village, Ararat Region, on his Facebook page.
Back in 2021, RA Environment Ministry announced that there are already enough factual data and evidence that allow a very preliminary assessment that the main source of pollution has been found.
"It seems that this pollution is the result of the wrong management of the waste of these enterprises and also the activities and waste of the fish farms, including the wrong placement of the organic and animal waste generated in the fish farms in the municipal landfill site in Masis. The process of neutralizing it should start as soon as possible in parallel with strict administration.
Naturally, it is not possible to solve the problem of landfills in a short time, but it is possible to solve the problem of proper placement and management of fish waste by fish farms in the Masis landfill site by applying strict administration," Environment Minister Romanos Petrosyan said in particular during the discussion convened on the problem of stork pollution.
Environment Ministry and Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body have not yet publicly responded to this alarm signal.
