Caucasian Red Deer in Bends of Dilijan

On February 16, Caucasian red deer went for a walk in the bends of Dilijan. In this regard, Environment Ministry made a statement urging to be more attentive and alert when driving on the given road section especially at night.

It should be informed in case of harming a red deer, the damage caused to the state will be calculated at 15 million AMD, as well as measures of responsibility are defined by Article 386 of RA Criminal Code," the ministry said in its press release.

The deer found in the bends of Dilijan were released from Deer Breeding Center of Dilijan National Park on October 14, 2022. Two males and one female Zagros, Nadal and Zina. Special radio collars are placed on the released animals, which allows tracking the movement of the animals online.

The deer breeding center was created within the framework of "Caucasian red deer resettlement in Armenia" project launched in 2013.

 Within the framework of the project, 14 individuals were transferred from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia in 2018, 3 of which were donations, and 5,000 dollars were paid for each of 11.
