

EcoLur Information NGO has developed and published "Guide to Civil Society Participation in the 17th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17)" as a practical resource to support the informed participation of civil society in CBD COP17.
The purpose of the Guide is to enhance civil society's awareness of CBD COP17 by providing comprehensive information on the significance of the conference, its organization, and opportunities for participation.
The Guide presents the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the importance of its Protocols and the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the functions of the Convention's main governing and subsidiary bodies, the role of the Conference of the Parties (COP), participation procedures, registration processes, the preliminary agenda of CBD COP17 to be held in Armenia, and the various formats for participation.
The Guide was prepared within the framework of "Strengthening Civil Society Leadership and Biodiversity Governance Ahead of COP17 in Armenia" project implemented with the support of the Heinrich Böll Foundation's Tbilisi Office – South Caucasus Region.
